In a workplace, a mail inserter typically operates specialized equipment that folds, stuffs, and seals mail pieces efficiently. Mail inserters ensure that batches of mail are assembled accurately and prepared for timely distribution.

What are the duties and responsibilities of a mail inserter?

As a mail inserter, your responsibilities are to set up, operate, and troubleshoot mail sorting machines and other sorting equipment. You must calibrate the devices to handle different types of mail, such as bank statements, checks, and invoices. During the operation, you make routine inspections of the equipment to ensure that there are no quality control issues or mechanical problems with the setup.
