Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing our passengers with superior customer service from behind the baggage counter or on the station floor or platform. The incumbent will be responsible for operating heavy equipment (forklift, pallet jack, luggage carts, etc.) and complying with all company safety policies and procedures. Position will be governed by all Corporate and station policies.
Essential Functions
  • Representative will be responsible for handling baggage.
  • Handle, receive, and process lost and found items.
  • Keep all information racks filled as needed.
  • Provide assistance to customers with special needs.
  • Assist passengers with luggage and boarding trains.
  • Will verify passengers are properly ticketed or have the proper travel documents, and ensure compliance with baggage requirements prior to admission to station platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficient with baggage & express operation and be able to quote rates and information.
  • Must be able to push or pull a baggage cart and operate baggage equipment (i.e. tow tractor, pallet jack and forklift).
  • Must be familiar with the operation of the Passenger Information Display System.
  • Able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Communications and Interpersonal Skills
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to maintain a positive, good-natured attitude is essential.

The hourly range is $25.74 - $34.32 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment).
