Maher information

What is a Maher?

A 'Maher' is a term that can refer to multiple things depending on the context. In some regions, 'Maher' is a surname or a family name of Irish origin, meaning 'generous' or 'kind.' In Indian contexts, particularly in Maharashtra, 'Maher' can refer to a community or caste group. Additionally, in Arabic, 'Maher' is a given name meaning 'skillful' or 'talented.' The specific meaning of 'Maher' depends on cultural and regional backgrounds.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Maher?

I'm sorry, but 'Maher' is not recognized as a standard professional occupation, so I cannot provide a valid skills and qualifications overview.

What are some common challenges faced by a Maher in the construction industry, and how can they be overcome?

As a Maher (mason), one common challenge is working in varying weather conditions, which can affect both safety and the quality of the work. Additionally, coordinating with other trades on-site and ensuring precise measurements are essential to avoid costly errors. To overcome these challenges, it is important to stay informed about safety protocols, communicate effectively with the team, and continuously update skills to keep up with new materials and construction techniques. Adapting to site-specific requirements and maintaining attention to detail are key to success in this role.

What is the difference between Maher vs Mason?

Maher and Mason roles both operate within the construction industry, often working on similar projects. While Mahers may focus on specific tasks like site preparation or assisting skilled trades, Masons specialize in laying bricks, stones, and concrete blocks. Both roles require similar credentials and work environments, making them closely related but distinct in their specific duties.

Job description

Commercial Real Estate Agent | Retail Investment Sales

Maher Commercial Realty | Beverly Hills, CA | Commission Only | On Site

Maher Commercial Realty is a Beverly Hills commercial real estate brokerage hiring one commercial real estate agent to build our retail investment sales platform across California. We are pursuing shopping centers and larger retail assets statewide, from Los Angeles to San Diego, the Central Valley, Sacramento, and the Central Coast.

The firm is led by Oron Maher, a licensed California broker and attorney with 26 years in the business, more than 450 closed transactions, and over $1 billion in sales. We operate divisions in retail, multifamily, single tenant net lease, gas stations and car washes, urban infill land, and industrial. Retail is where we are putting our next dollar of growth.

THE ROLE

You procure business. That is the job.

You will be on the phone every day with retail property owners across California, building relationships from nothing, and turning those conversations into meetings, valuations, and listings. You will nurture that pipeline over months, because commercial owners sell on their timeline and the broker still standing when they do is the broker who gets paid. You will attend every owner meeting alongside the senior broker, and you will learn the full deal cycle from origination through close.

This is a builder's seat. Nobody is handing you a book of business. You are here to create one.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Make 100 outbound calls per day to retail property owners across California

• Build and own a prospect pipeline from scratch in assigned submarkets

• Attend owner meetings and listing presentations alongside the senior broker

• Follow up relentlessly and keep relationships warm over long cycles

• Prepare market research, comps, and rent surveys that feed our broker opinions of value

• Support listings, marketing rollouts, buyer canvassing, and escrow coordination

• Log every contact and every conversation in the CRM the same day

WHAT WE PUT BEHIND YOU

You prospect. You do not do it alone and you do not do it with nothing.

• A senior managing broker who works every deal next to you, attends every meeting with you, and trains you on underwriting, objection handling, pitch delivery, and negotiation

• A marketing team that produces your broker opinions of value, offering memorandums, listing pages, and pitch collateral, so you walk into an owner meeting with institutional quality material behind you

• Owner contact data and research support, so your call time is spent talking, not hunting for phone numbers

• CRM, dialing infrastructure, call recording, and follow up automation

• A serious statewide marketing program that puts our name in front of retail owners before you dial them

COMPANY LEADS

The firm runs its own marketing and generates its own leads. From time to time, company leads are made available to agents. Assignment is discretionary and earned. It goes to whoever is producing, following through, and handling what they have already been given.

Treat it as upside, not as your plan. Anyone who comes here expecting to be fed will not last. The people who get company leads here are the ones who did not need them.

WHO WE WANT

• 1 to 5 years in commercial real estate sales, leasing, or comparable phone based business development

• Active California real estate license, or licensed before your start date

• Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls every day, indefinitely

• Patient with long sales cycles and disciplined about follow up

• Coachable. You take direction, apply it the same day, and ask a better question the second time

• Willing to travel throughout California for meetings and property tours

• Hungry. This role rewards output, not tenure

COMPENSATION AND STRUCTURE

Commission only, structured as a tiered split by lead source. Self sourced originations and company leads are compensated differently, and every split is defined in writing before work begins. Top performers move up the split schedule and earn discretionary bonuses above it. We walk you through the entire structure in the first interview. No surprises, ever.

This is an independent contractor position. Your license hangs with Maher Commercial Realty. Four days a week in our Beverly Hills office. The role can grow into Retail Division Lead with production. It is not a partner track and it is not an equity seat.

Be clear eyed about the first year. Commission only means you eat what you kill, and commercial deals take time to close. Do not take this seat unless you can go months on activity alone before your first check.

HOW TO APPLY

Email a resume to Oron@MaherCR.com with answers to two questions. How many outbound calls did you make last week. What is the hardest deal or sale you have ever been part of. Applications that do not answer both will not be reviewed.

Maher Commercial Realty is an equal opportunity employer.
