POSITION TITLE: ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY SPECIALIST  
                              

LOCATION: CINCINNATI, OH

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related activities are carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures and to ensure that the facility complies with all EH&S regulatory requirements.  This position reports to the Director of Human Resources with a close partnership with the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Implement and lead the EH&S Program.
  • Establish EH&S Annual Operating Plan, Goals and KPIs.
  • Administers EH&S training programs - tracks/maintains records of all training logs.
  • Provides and ensures training is completed for all employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Conduct risk analysis and implement corrective actions as warranted
  • Responsible for accident prevention through safety audits, implementing and managing safety committees/teams, monitoring metrics, and conducting safety toolbox talks
  • Maintains EH&S related policies, procedures, documents, and records.
  • Maintains current knowledge of OSHA, EPA & DOT regulations
  • Assists with regulatory reports/submittals and permitting for facility.
  • Key liaison for regulatory inspections.
  • Develop cross-functional partnerships to leverage internal resources.
  • Manage EH&S and ESG scorecards
  • Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or related field, strongly preferred.
  • Formal safety certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience training EHS topics to a manufacturing workforce
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
  • Very attention to detail oriented
  • A positive attitude and a ‘roll up your sleeves’ mentality to get the job done
  • Excellent people skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency in MS office
