POSITION TITLE: ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY SPECIALIST

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure that all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related activities are carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures and to ensure that the facility complies with all EH&S regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources with a close partnership with the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Implement and lead the EH&S Program.
- Establish EH&S Annual Operating Plan, Goals and KPIs.
- Administers EH&S training programs - tracks/maintains records of all training logs.
- Provides and ensures training is completed for all employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Conduct risk analysis and implement corrective actions as warranted
- Responsible for accident prevention through safety audits, implementing and managing safety committees/teams, monitoring metrics, and conducting safety toolbox talks
- Maintains EH&S related policies, procedures, documents, and records.
- Maintains current knowledge of OSHA, EPA & DOT regulations
- Assists with regulatory reports/submittals and permitting for facility.
- Key liaison for regulatory inspections.
- Develop cross-functional partnerships to leverage internal resources.
- Manage EH&S and ESG scorecards
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or related field, strongly preferred.
- Formal safety certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience training EHS topics to a manufacturing workforce
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
- Very attention to detail oriented
- A positive attitude and a ‘roll up your sleeves’ mentality to get the job done
- Excellent people skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency in MS office
