Line Cook (Kitchen Team Member)
Hours of Operation:
Sun - Thursday: 7am-10pm
Friday - Saturday: 7am - 12am
Our Purpose
To love people by preparing great-tasting, great-looking food that exceeds guest expectations. As a Line Cook (Kitchen Team Member), you'll be responsible for your assigned station while maintaining our high standards for food quality, presentation, food safety, and ticket times. You'll learn to prepare menu items from both the Applebee's and IHOP menus according to brand recipes and specifications, with opportunities to cross-train across multiple kitchen stations.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare menu items according to Applebee's and IHOP recipes, plate presentation standards, and product specifications (50%).
  • Complete all assigned food preparation and station prep work before and during each shift (15%).
  • Set up and stock workstations according to station diagrams and operational standards (15%).
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling procedures at all times (10%).
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and food preparation areas before, during, and after each shift (5%).
  • Complete assigned daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning responsibilities (5%).

Qualifications
  • A positive attitude and genuine desire to learn, grow, and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to prepare menu items for both Applebee's and IHOP concepts while maintaining brand standards.
  • Reading, writing, basic math, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely operate knives, slicers, grills, fryers, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Mobility required throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to place plates, cookware, utensils, and supplies on both high and low storage shelves.
  • Ability to transport cases and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times during the day.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations to help protect yourself and others.

Physical Requirements
This position requires regular physical activity throughout each shift. Team members must be able to:
  • Move throughout the restaurant and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Frequently handle and grasp items weighing up to 5 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Bend, stoop, reach, twist, and stand for extended periods.
  • Maintain adequate vision to assess food quality, cleanliness, and operate touchscreen kitchen systems.
