Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for Electrical/Instrumentation Technicians for a client in Portland, OR that focuses on renewable energy manufacturing and large rotating machinery systems . This is a temporary project, expected to be three weeks in duration. The person in this position will be supporting the integration and commissioning of PLC-controlled industrial equipment used in the renewable energy sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a rapidly growing industry!
PAY: $30-$40/hr
Electrical/Instrumentation Technician Responsibilities:
  • Support integration of prefabricated PLC control systems onto HPU and compressor skids
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Mount and wire field instrumentation including pressure transducers, RTDs, thermocouples, flow meters, and level switches
  • Wire solenoid valves, relay outputs, and field devices
  • Perform point-to-point wiring from field instruments to control panels
  • Crimp and terminate lugs, ferrules, and connectors
  • Install cable glands, conduit fittings, and route wire harnesses
  • Properly strip, label, bundle, and dress wiring
  • Conduct basic testing including continuity and sensor checks
  • Support engineering teams during commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Other duties as assigned

Electrical/Instrumentation Technician Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in industrial electrical assembly or instrumentation work
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
  • Experience with PLC control panels and industrial instrumentation preferred
  • Strong understanding of wiring standards and electrical best practices
  • Experience with cable termination, ferrules, and wire management
  • Familiarity with industrial sensors and controls systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Details and Schedule:
  • $30-$40/hour
  • Approx. 3-week temporary assignment starting on or around 5/25
  • Potential for extension based on project needs
  • MON-FRI schedule, 40 hours/week
