Job Summary and Qualifications Position Summary: The advanced clinical pharmacist–pediatrics practices the profession of pharmacy with the utmost code of ethics demonstrating the organization’s mission and values. They are responsible for the safe, effective, evidence-based, and cost-effective selection and utilization of medications for the patients in the hospital’s pediatric units. They use advanced knowledge, skills, and professional judgment in all aspects of their work. They serve as a patient advocate when planning and implementing pharmaceutical care within a multidisciplinary rounding team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals in a knowledgeable and professional manner. In addition, they promote pharmacy services within the hospital by serving or chairing hospital committees, presenting at conferences and contributing to publications, and providing regular, formal education to pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams. Adherence to all regulatory and medication safety guidelines are at the forefront of all actions and decisions made within the practice of the clinical pharmacist.​​ What qualifications you will need:
  • Required Education: B.S. or Pharm D. degree in Pharmacy
  • Required License: Maintains current pharmacist licensure, Pharmacist Board Certification - Pediatric Pharmacy, and Certifications in the specialists for the position as determined by facility needs. Potential certifications may include: SIDP, MAD-ID, CPPS, among others.
  • Required Experience: Graduate of an accredited PGY - 1 residency program.
  • Preferred Experience: Graduate of an accredited PGY - 2 residency program, Five years' inpatient hospital experience or Three years' HCA inpatient hospital experience
