POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Machinist who is highly skilled. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of operating advanced machinery and CNC machines and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. This role requires proficiency in using precision measuring tools to ensure high-quality results and strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve machinery and cutting tool issues. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing machining processes to improve efficiency and productivity.

1. Operate more advanced machinery and CNC machines with a foundational understanding of G-code
2. Understand and utilize technical drawings and blueprints effectively
3. Utilize precision measuring tools to guarantee accurate results
4. Identify and resolve issues related to machinery and cutting tools
5. Enhance machining processes to increase efficiency
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
  • Ensure the machines are running efficiently and accurately according to specifications
  • Interpret complex diagrams to produce parts that meet precise specifications
  • Conduct regular measurements and quality checks throughout the production process to maintain high standards
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing procedures to optimize production flow
  • Maintain an organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure efficiency
  • Wear the appropriate protective gear to ensure personal and workplace safety

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or Vocational school equivalent
  • Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC machine operation
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Skilled in using precision measuring tools with a keen eye for detail
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This position may require constant standing and frequent walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and twisting
  • Working in the machine shop requires constant cervical flexion and chin-chest movement. The maximum lifting weight is about 50 lbs. the maximum carrying weight is about 30 lbs. the maximum pushing and pulling weight can reach 100-150 lbs.
  • Frequent forward and lateral reach may be required, as well as frequent grasping and handling. This position requires a strong ability to work alone and self-supervised.
  • It also requires handling attention to detail, tight deadlines, responsibility and accountability, and multitasking
