Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a General Machinist / General Mechanic to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and fabricate parts for production equipment in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and experience operating machine shop equipment, reading blueprints, and using precision measuring tools. Candidates with a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply.

Pay: $20.00+ per hour
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failures
  • Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and machining drawings
  • Fabricate replacement parts as needed
  • Inspect machine work to ensure quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support production goals
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of machining or mechanical experience preferred
  • Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn will be considered
  • Basic understanding of milling, drilling, and tapping
  • Ability to read machining drawings
  • Experience using measuring tools including:
    • Dial calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Depth micrometers
    • Height gauges
    • Telescoping gauges
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Machining experience with milling and turning operations
  • Basic fabrication knowledge and experience
  • Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
