Job description

A day in the shop (Oxford, NC)

Step onto the production floor and take ownership of precision. You’ll configure and run CNC lathes and mills, translate complex prints into flawless parts, and keep equipment humming. As the go-to problem solver, you’ll fine-tune offsets, swap tooling, and chase microns—while partnering closely with engineering and production to keep quality high and throughput steady.

Core responsibilities
  • Configure, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills to manufacture parts to exact specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan accurate machining strategies.
  • Observe machine performance, adjust parameters, and verify results to uphold strict quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to reduce downtime and maximize uptime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to refine and improve machining processes.
  • Record production details and maintain clear, accurate documentation of each run.
  • Follow safety procedures rigorously while keeping the work area clean and well organized.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; CNC machining certification is a plus.
  • 3+ years in a CNC Technician or comparable machining role.
  • Comfortable programming and editing using G-code and M-code; experienced with CAD/CAM.
  • Solid knowledge of machining methods, tooling selection, and material properties.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Clear communicator with a strong commitment to safety and product quality.
