Job description


Summary: The Greer Group is seeking an experienced CNC Router Programmer/Operator for our commercial signage client in Raleigh, NC. This is an immediate, temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone with hands-on CNC router experience who is comfortable with both programming and machine operation.
Position Overview:The CNC Router Programmer/Operator will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC router equipment used to produce precision-cut materials for commercial signage. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication skills, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with CAD and CNC programming software.
Responsibilities:
  • Create cut files and program CNC routers based on individual job specifications.
  • Set up CNC routers, including installing tooling, aligning workpieces, and calibrating machines for optimal performance.
  • Operate CNC equipment to accurately cut materials according to job specifications and quality standards.
  • Review work orders and prioritize jobs to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • Distribute completed pieces to the appropriate production areas to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical, tooling, and file-related issues.
  • Build and maintain a job library to reduce future programming, layout, and setup time.
  • Accurately charge materials for the appropriate jobs within the production system.
  • Communicate effectively with production staff and assist with other shop responsibilities as needed.
  • Utilize CAD and CAM software to develop CNC machine tool programming that incorporates detailed instructions and documentation for machine tool operators. Development of G-code CNC programs for CNC router using EnRoute.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12: 00 PM-8: 00 PM
Shift: 2nd Shift

Pay: Based on experience
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on CNC router operation experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or an Associate's degree is a plus.
  • Experience with CAD software and CNC router programming.
  • EnRoute experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Flexi and other CAD/CNC software is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of sign construction and materials.
  • Strong math skills, including geometry, fractions, ratios, proportions, and precise measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to dimensional accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and find practical solutions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based production/workflow systems.
  • Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate proactively with coworkers.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This position is based in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to:
  • Stand for extended periods while operating equipment and performing production tasks.
  • Use hands to operate machinery, tools, and controls throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, reach, and work in various positions.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Maintain close visual attention to measurements, dimensional accuracy, and finished-product quality.
  • Read, interpret, and follow written work orders and manufacturing documents.
