Primary Objective of the Position:   Safely operates and maintains lathe and milling machine(s).

Major Areas of Accountability:   

  • On assigned job orders responsible for reviewing drawings, clarifying procedures, ensuring materials are available, sets up machines and have a good understanding of the project scope and deadline 
  • Have the ability to run a mill or a lathe. 
  • Within the machining function (milling, boring, welding, lathe work, grinding and polishing) understands the specifications of each job and uses a variety of machines and tools to produce high quality work 
  • Accurately drill holes  
  • Uses tapping attachments to produce quality threads 
  • Utilizes appropriate saw for cutting and uses appropriate blades and speeds 
  • Ensures a safe work environment by following safety requirements and policies  
  • Perform routine visual machine inspections and report damages to maintenance for repair. 
  • Properly and safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts while maneuvering materials as needed. 
  • Performs other responsibilities and special projects as assigned. 

Qualified candidate requirements: 

  Ability to run and operate a CNC Lathe or Mill 

  Ability to take direction, be a team player, and show up on time   

Ability to utilize a variety of shop tools & machinery 

Must be able to lift 75 pounds
