Job description

We are hiring an Electrical Estimator - Project Manager

As an Industrial Electrical Contractor, Electrex has been in business for 65 years. We specialize in automotive, manufacturing, and machining facilities; mid to large-sized backup generators, and DTE Primary service installations. We also work on commercial new builds, alterations, municipalities, and government facilities. We do turnkey installations for facility relocations, generators, and machine moves; as well as offering design/build, general contracting, and consulting services.  With this wide range of electrical services offered, we are looking to expand our project management team to obtain more projects and grow our field service crews. We strive to work together as a team by helping each other obtain the final goals as an individual and for the company.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Michigan Journeyman or Masters license 
  • Commercial and/or industrial estimating experience preferred
  • 10 years of combined electrical experience with commercial and industrial
  • Valid driver's license with a good record
  • Presentable with good communication skills
  • Organized, detail-orientated, and multitasking
  • The ability to manage crew leaders and sub-contractors
  • Basic Microsoft programs experience (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • McCormick software experience or equivalent preferred, but will train
  • Read electrical blueprints
  • DTE Primary Service experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to new sales leads and meet with the client or join walk-thrus.
  • Estimate the projects by the scope of work or blueprints provided
  • Work with the PM team as needed for additional information 
  • Write-up quote notes for the front office to produce the written quotes
  • Submit quotes and discuss details with the clients
  • Manage awarded projects and communicate with:
    • Clients or general contractors
    • Material purchasing agent
    • Foremen and electricians
    • Sub-contractors
    • Management team
  • Manage the project's financials from start to finish
  • Write up change orders as needed
  • Oversee monthly invoicing of all projects
