Position Description
Our self-perform teams perform a variety of tasks i nvolving physical labor at construction building sites. The responsibilities primarily focus on completing building projects in a timely and effective manner. Field crew may work in specific trade teams or perform cross functional work within our self-performing teams.
Metal Building Erector assembles prefabricated metal buildings according to drawings and specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment. Steel Erectors install, place, align and reinforce steel structures and frameworks. This involves working with steel beams, steel girders, columns and a variety of tools and heavy machinery.
  • Assemble scaffold and steel structural components.
  • Installs insulating materials per the drawings and specifications.
  • Installs sheet metal wall and roof panels to framework.
  • Installs building sheet metal trim.
  • Bolts steel frame members together. Attaches wire and insulating materials to framework.
  • Bolts sheet metal panels to framework.
  • Trims excess sheet metal, using cutting torch, power saw, and tin snips
  • Erects frame of building, using hoist.

Position Requirements
  • Must have basic metal building assembly tools.
  • Familiar with basic rigging and steel erecting principals and techniques.
  • Reads and understands blueprints and specifications to determine location and installation requirements of items such as doors, windows, ventilators, and skylights.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to and from job sites
  • Available to work nights and weekends when needed.
  • Acute safety awareness.
  • Agile, physically fit with a strong sense of balance.
  • Ability to perform at elevated work areas in tight quarters or other environments (with appropriate safety gear)
  • Ability to handle and maneuver heavy materials and operate equipment such as aerial lifts, forklifts etc.
