GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for applications engineering which may include designing, defining, implementing system requirements, analyzing and/or testing company products to create and develop system solutions based on customer requirements. The position will conduct feasibility tests and work on process development projects to meet customer specifications and/or requirements. They will be responsible for development of bill of materials, drawing of system diagrams, overseeing the design, and managing system orders from quoting to installation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partners with sales team to review customers' technical needs and recommends specific product/service solutions to meet these needs to drive Nordson's market share.
• Conducts feasibility tests and works on process development projects to meet customer specifications and/or requirements
• Estimates costs and consults with the sales force on technical matters, ensuring that proposed solutions can be integrated with current systems and equipment.
• Works with engineers from various departments to resolve problems that arise during and after implementation.
• Answers questions from field sales, service, and/or customers about equipment performance and makes recommendations on what equipment to use for a particular purpose.
• Oversees the design of and/or specifies special components as needed for custom system solutions.
• May assist with sales presentations to prospective customers and in conducting user training for customers on-site.
• May guide the work of lower level engineers.
• Other duties or projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 5 years of prior related applied engineering experience.
• Advanced understanding of mathematical and engineering principles and methods used to design systems and components.
• Ability to make well-reasoned and timely decisions based on careful, objective review and informed analysis of available considerations and factors.
• Ability to adapt behavior and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles; adjusts rapidly to new situations or issues warranting attention and resolution.
• A strong skill in task prioritization and ability to adjust priorities as business dictates.
Minimal Travel 0-10%. Position will be onsite at our Johns Creek facility.
