Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lathe Machinist role located in Santa Ana, CA. The Lathe Machinist will set up and operate manual and/or CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to drawings, work orders, and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, selecting tooling, performing machine setups, adjusting feeds and speeds, and monitoring machining operations to ensure accuracy and consistency. The role involves inspecting finished parts using measurement tools, documenting results, and making necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances. The Lathe Machinist will also perform routine machine maintenance, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.
Qualifications
  • Experience setting up and operating manual and/or CNC lathes in a production or job-shop environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions, including understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to inspect parts and verify quality.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and materials commonly used in metalworking.
  • Commitment to safety practices, housekeeping standards, and proper handling of equipment and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to identify and correct machining issues.
