Starting Wage $20 + $1.50 Shift Differential

The Opportunity

MTI, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machine Operator who is eager to learn and enjoys working in a metal machine shop in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. You will make a positive impact by fabricating the parts used in our high-end medical procedure chairs and other products. The successful Machine Operator will be reliable in effectively performing machining procedures and will consistently, efficiently, and accurately fabricate parts with minimal errors. You will contribute to a growing company and increase your skill, knowledge and capability. You will be effective in your work while enjoying time with co-workers and maintaining a safe, organized, and clean workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively operate a CNC mill, other machine shop equipment, and tools for machining, milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks.
  • Use standard measuring tools.
  • Detect, replace or report defective materials, tools, or questionable conditions.
  • Inspect machined products and adjust machines or production accordingly.
  • Complete and maintain production and parts paperwork while setting up, programming, and monitoring jobs for quality.
  • Read instructions and drawings to determine specifications or materials required to perform work correctly.
  • Follow safe work practices, maintaining a safe working environment for you and your co-workers.
  • Clean and maintain an orderly work area-including wiping, blowing, and sweeping.
  • Keep records and correct quantities using a computer and applicable systems.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of basic CNC machine operation experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • CNC Machining certificate from a technical school preferred

Physical Demands

  • Very frequent use of arms, hands, fingers, back and core muscles to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds-generally shifting and lifting weight from one surface to another.
  • Work in coordination with others or using cranes or other devices to lift or shift items weighing up to 90 pounds.
  • Stand for a full shift.
  • Show endurance in doing repetitive motions.
  • Work safely using PPE in a production environment.
