Headquartered in Orange, CA, BAPKO Metal Inc. is one of California's most reputable and trusted self-performing contractors specializing in structural steel, miscellaneous steel, architectural metals, and stairs. Our quality craftsmanship can be found in the steel structures supporting a diverse range of projects, and in the architectural details enhancing commercial, healthcare, and educational facilities across California. 


Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to oversee all aspects of the building process working closely with engineers, architects, and general contractors to develop plans, establish timetables, and determine labor and costs. Responsibilities involve project planning, distributing resources, managing the budget and managing relationships with key participants. 


 Core Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for organizing and coordinating the project's schedule with BAPKO's departments and subcontractors to maintain the customers' expectations
  • Ensure projects meet cost requirements as well as updating forecasted revenue and costs reports
  • Routinely meet with customers and vendors to identify potential issues and problem solve them
  • Communicate regularly with our customer's project specific team in order to facilitate our scope of work
  • Assures proper accounting for project change orders in a timely manner
  • Manage projects with a hands-on and team effort approach including meeting strict deadlines
  • Visit job sites as needed
  • Other duties and tasks may be assigned

 Qualifications 

  • Associate Degree and/or 2-5+ years Project/Construction Management experience in the construction industry required
  • Ability to understand the contractual terms and requirements of projects and uphold BAPKO's interest
  • Knowledge of AISC standards, AWS codes, and fabrication and erection standards and procedures preferred
  • Skillset that includes strong leadership, organization, detail-oriented, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprints required
  • Ability to run multiple projects, in varying sizes, at various stages of construction and be able to convey ideas in a clear and concise manor in a variety of situations
  • Computer skills and ability to learn new programs
