Laitram Machine Shop is seeking an Material Handler to work in our Material Management department.

Laitram Machine Shop provides cost effective, zero-defect inventory parts and components to other Laitram divisions, while supporting new product development through technical expertise and rapid turnaround.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Most of the work will be completed with the use of a forklift
  • Move material inside and outside of the Machine Shop to ensure smooth shop operations
  • Empty material collection receptacles containing machining chips and coolant
  • Put away received material to assigned locations
  • Assist with deliveries for shipping and receiving, may include dropping off or picking up from local suppliers
  • Responsible for material recycling and logistics to have material picked up
  • Coordinates coolant disposal and recycling coolant when possible
  • Assists with daily shipping and receiving activities when necessary

Requirements
  • Forklift experience
  • Self-managed and self-starting individual
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Communicates clearly, verbally and written
  • Proficiency in standard software packages (Excel, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 45 lbs

Desired Qualifications
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Previous experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing
  • Previous experience working in shipping or receiving
