Job Summary

The Tennis Shop Maintenance Staff plays a critical role in maintaining the pristine condition of the Club's tennis courts and surrounding areas, ensuring an exceptional experience for members and guests. This position involves daily court maintenance, upkeep of equipment, and support for tennis events. They Tennis Shop Maintenance Staff assists with tournament setup, court preparation, and post-event cleanup.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains clay and hard courts to the highest standards, including watering, rolling, dragging surfaces, and sweeping court lines on clay courts. Removes debris from hard courts and ensure all playing surfaces are clean and safe.
  • Repairs and maintains clay court surfaces by addressing low and high spots, dusts, and plugs or feathers material.
  • Keeps nets, fences, and court tapes in good condition.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of all areas around the courts by blowing sidewalks, cleaning terrace areas, emptying trash receptacles and ashtrays, and organizing chairs. Maintains cleanliness of shop windows and surrounding facilities.
  • Regularly inspects and maintains court-related equipment, such as court coolers, ice chests, and tennis shoe cleaners.
  • Performs routine maintenance on machines and equipment, including oil changes, fueling, greasing, and order and replacing worn parts. Arranges for external repairs when necessary.
  • Assists with the preparation and cleanup of tournaments and other special events, ensuring courts and surrounding areas are tournament ready. Helps with brushing courts, setting up facilities, and restoring the site after events.
  • Replenishes essential supplies such as ice, towels, and cups for member use.
  • Trims grass and prevents weed growth around court edges.
  • Maintains and repairs court drainage systems and wind screens as needed.
  • Keeps desk staff informed of court conditions and reports any maintenance issues.
  • Attends staff meetings to stay updated on club operations and priorities.
  • Performs other tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the tennis facility, including taking towels to the laundry, restocking towels, keeping maintenance areas organized, and ensuring the overall upkeep of tennis areas.
  • Keeps the maintenance shed clean and organized.
  • Follows CCM mission and values, including providing the best quality service possible. “Service with a Smile” is a key element in providing a positive experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This is a Part-Time weekend-only position.


Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, shifts, and overtime if necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Alabama driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of time standing, walking stairs, frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, with or without accommodation.
