We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator for a unique opportunity on our manufacturing team in Appleton, WI. Our shop is not your typical machine shop. As a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator, you will be an integral part of a successful team and willbe responsible foroperatingthe vertical turning centers that produce specialized products and components for the aerospace industry.

In this role, you will be able to work with new state-of-the art equipment in a safe, clean,air and climate-controlled environment.

This is a weekend day shift, Friday-Sunday, 5am-5pm. Scheduled for 36 hours, get paid for 40! Training may take place during the week. We will train a motivated, mechanically inclined candidate!

A successful CNC Machinist/Machine Operator is a problem solver, safety-focused and understands the importance of precision and quality. To be successful.you'llhave to learn ATI, our products,customersand procedures and work collaboratively with other CNC Machinists and cross-functional teams to ensureproductis manufactured to quality and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Receives work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1stpieceand in-process check sheets from department supervisionindicatingthe operations to be performed
  • Reads and interprets dimension drawings, sketches, tool setup sheets and manufacturing instructions for performing required machining operation and setups
  • Uses operational drawings todeterminerequired dimensions,travelsand tolerance to be maintained
  • Oversees and controls the operation of machining centers in the machining of forgings made fromvarious typesof super alloys with full support of the engineering and programming departments
  • Uses precision or standard measuring devices that are completelyfurnishedby the company, such as scales, inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges or special gauges and profilometers to check machined dimensions and surface finishes conforming to customer prints and/or specifications
  • Loads and unloads pieces using an overhead hoist
  • Exercisescarein handling material before and after the machining operation.
