About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Machine Shop team in Brampton. This role is responsible for supporting daily material handling activities, ensuring inventory accuracy, stocking production areas, and maintaining efficient material flow throughout the department.

The successful candidate will have experience operating lift trucks in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, possess strong inventory management skills, and be committed to maintaining a safe and organized workplace. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and contribute to the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company equipment and report any issues immediately.
  • Transfer materials efficiently throughout the Machine Shop while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Stock assembly stations and support material flow using Kanban and inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery of materials and parts.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and inventory tracking tools to complete transactions and transfers.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Operate lift trucks, including counterbalance, stand-up, and Bendi equipment (training provided for Bendi if required).
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and adhere to Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse or material handling experience.
  • Valid forklift certification and experience operating lift trucks in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Experience with inventory management and inventory control processes.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and computerized inventory systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Crane experience or training is considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation: $22.00/hr
