Looking for your next exciting Mechanic position? Wolter Inc., is looking for a Shop Mechanic to join our team! This position based out of our St. Louis, MO facility and will be responsible for supporting our Service Department.

As a Wolter Shop Mechanic, you'll be the heart of our mission. Here's what you'll dive into:

  • Complete all assigned service jobs with expert precision.
  • Document and recommend additional repairs, collaborating with the Shop Foreman to prepare customer quotes.
  • Communicate seamlessly with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and/or Shop Manager for any technical assistance or unusual service challenges.
  • Attend service training classes to stay ahead on new products and refresh your knowledge.
  • Submit daily paperwork promptly, including timecards and maintenance reports.
  • Keep the shop organized and spotless – because a tidy space is a productive space.
  • Offer a helping hand to fellow shop techs when needed.
  • Always prioritize safety, following rules and policies diligently.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Masterful skills in repairing powered industrial equipment, with a minimum of two (2) years' experience fixing forklift trucks and other products we represent, including LP Gas, diesel, and electric forklift trucks.
  • Successful completion of required training courses.
  • Stellar communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A time management pro who can juggle multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
  • Ownership of tools necessary for repairs, as per our recommended tool list.
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment.
  • Wholehearted commitment to the company's vision and mission.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally, 5-30 pounds more frequently, and up to 30 pounds very frequently.
  • Frequently standing, reclining, kneeling, walking, twisting, reaching, and using feet to repair and operate machinery.
  • Occasional sitting, stooping, crouching, squatting, climbing, and crawling.
  • Constant use of hands and fingers for repairs and office work.
  • Exceptional vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
