Entry-Level Shop Technician

Department: Shop / Operations
Reports To: Shop Supervisor / Production Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Entry-Level Shop Technician to join our team. This position supports daily shop operations by assisting with production, equipment operation, material handling, inspection, packaging, and general shop duties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing things correctly, and wants to develop skills in a manufacturing and industrial environment. Previous shop or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day shop and production activities.
  • Operate basic shop machinery, equipment, and hand tools after proper training.
  • Load, unload, move, and organize raw materials and finished products.
  • Follow work orders, job instructions, drawings, and established procedures.
  • Measure and inspect parts using basic measuring tools as trained.
  • Perform basic assembly, deburring, cleaning, sorting, and packaging operations.
  • Identify and report damaged materials, defective parts, or equipment concerns.
  • Maintain accurate part counts and help ensure jobs are completed correctly.
  • Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Assist experienced technicians and machine operators as needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work cooperatively with production, warehouse, quality, and other team members.
  • Perform other shop-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • No previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and working with measurements.
  • Ability to use hand tools safely and correctly.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

Physical Requirements
