Job description

Shop Foreman - Toyota on Nicholasville
Lead the shop. Develop the team. Drive performance.
Toyota on Nicholasville is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman who understands that a great foreman doesn't just fix cars-they make the entire shop better.
We operate a high-volume Toyota service department, and we're looking for a respected leader who can bring out the best in our technicians, keep the shop organized and productive, and create a culture built around teamwork, accountability, efficiency, and quality.
This is a non-working Shop Foreman position focused primarily on leadership, workflow, technician development, and shop performance. That said, we need someone with strong technical knowledge who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty when the team needs support with a difficult diagnosis or repair.
What You'll Own:
  • Lead the shop culture - Set the tone for teamwork, accountability, communication, and professionalism.
  • Coach and develop technicians - Help technicians improve their skills, efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Manage dispatch and workflow - Keep work moving efficiently through the shop and make sure the right jobs get to the right technicians.
  • Drive technician efficiency and production - Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce downtime, and maximize shop capacity.
  • Recruit and build the team - Help us attract, hire, and retain talented technicians.
  • Manage Toyota training and certifications - Keep technicians on track with required training and help build the next generation of Toyota-certified talent.
  • Develop apprentices - Create a clear path for entry-level technicians to grow into productive, skilled technicians.
  • Provide technical leadership - Assist with difficult diagnostics, complex repairs, and technical questions when needed.
  • Maintain quality and accountability - Hold the team to high standards while creating an environment where technicians want to succeed.
  • Communicate across the department - Work closely with service advisors and management to keep the shop running efficiently and customers taken care of.

Who We're Looking For:
  • An experienced technician and/or automotive shop leader
  • A strong communicator and respected leader
  • Highly organized and able to manage a fast-paced shop
  • Focused on efficiency, productivity, and quality
  • Comfortable coaching and holding people accountable
  • Passionate about developing technicians and building a strong team
  • Technically knowledgeable and capable of assisting with difficult diagnoses
  • Someone who understands that great shop performance starts with great shop culture
