Job Summary

Serves the customers of the Gift Shop by training staff, purchasing, processing sales, displaying products, and responding to customer feedback.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the gift shop.
  • Designs and produces fresh floral arrangements.
  • Maintains floral inventory and supplies according to demand.
  • Schedules and assists with floral and gift deliveries.
  • Answers telephone and completes sales from phone orders.
  • Designs and implements displays, operating related equipment, and keeping the gift shop neat and clean.
  • Greets customers and promotes sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers.
  • Seeks innovative approaches to dealing with customers.
  • Receives payment by cash, check, credit or debit card.
  • Issues receipts, change, credits, or refunds.
  • Balances cash register and prepares money bag for the following business day.
  • Monitors and maintains stock levels. Identifies, removes, and disposes of defective or expired items.
  • Monitors store activities and secures gift shop assets including cash, checks, and merchandise.
  • Monitors, stocks labels, and transports merchandise and supplies within the organization.
  • Receives, resolves, and/or refers complaints to appropriate persons.
  • Trains and works with volunteers working in the gift shop.
  • Develops and publishes evacuation route and determines and documents locations of potentially dangerous materials and chemicals.
  • Keeps records of spending and income for monthly reports.
  • Understands process of payroll deduction, badge swipe, and credit card machine.

  • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
