General Helper 1st Shift Temp to Hire
Assist shop personnel with a variety of support tasks that are based on department. The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Under direct supervision assists in various shop activities by performing the following duties.

Job Summary
  • Assist mechanics in various tasks.
  • Loads & unloads materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, or trucks.
  • Transport equipment or materials to various designated work areas for processing.
  • Load trash bins and compactors.
  • Fill propane bottles. Change out on equipment.
  • Operate hand tools and handling equipment when instructed.
  • Read work instructions necessary to assist in operational process.
  • Move materials and supplies for department personnel.
  • Assist with housekeeping and cleanup operations.
  • Provide support to shop personnel where needed.
  • Perform light mechanical assembly.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including participation in project committees.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple directions, MSD Sheets, part numbers.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Critical thinking skills and good decision making thought processes.
  • Understanding and application of directions provided by lead/supervisor/manager.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Required Experience and Education
  • H.S. Diploma or GED

Licenses, Certifications, etc.
  • Forklift Certification may be required.
