Job description

Key Responsibilities

● Open and prepare the shop for daily operations, ensuring machines, tooling, and materials are organized and ready for use.

● Manage tool crib inventory, tool crib organization, and ensure critical consumables are stocked.

● Coordinate material movement, staging, and storage for fabrication projects.

● Oversee chip management, coolant and oil monitoring, and general shop cleanliness.

● Maintain post-processing areas and ensure workspaces are organized, safe, and clean.

● Perform first-level troubleshooting and basic preventative maintenance (PM) on shop equipment.

● Monitor machine metrics including coolant/oil levels, filters, and general machine condition.

● Escalate maintenance or repair needs appropriately and track follow-ups.

● Uphold strict adherence to shop safety protocols and procedures.

● Champion organization standards aligned with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.

● Identify and implement improvements related to tooling organization, setup efficiency, and workflow optimization.

● Partner with machinists, engineers, and leadership to maintain a high-performing shop environment
