A to Z Quality Fencing is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our growing team! In this dynamic role, you won’t just be sweeping floors—you will be an essential part of our daily operations. You will assist our shop supervisors and project managers with a variety of hands-on tasks while learning the fundamentals of manufacturing, including how to operate heavy machinery and specialized tools.

??? What You’ll Be Doing (Primary Responsibilities)
Every day brings something new! Your key responsibilities will include:

• Material Management: Cutting materials down to the proper length according to job load guides.
• Equipment Operation: Getting hands-on experience utilizing material handling equipment and machinery, including forklifts, band saws, cut-off saws, belt sanders, drill presses, disc grinders, punch presses, CNC machines, and skid loaders (as needed).
• Inventory Control: Maintaining, retrieving, and organizing inventory, as well as sorting and placing materials on racks, shelves, or in bins.
• Shop Maintenance: Performing weekly preventative maintenance, vehicle inspections, and keeping equipment clean and in top shape.
• Organization: Keeping detailed records of shop activities and maintaining a highly organized workspace.


? What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
Whether you have years of experience or you’re just starting out, we want to hear from you. We are willing to train the right individual!

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of 1–2 years of materials or shop experience is great, but a basic mechanical background and familiarity with hand tools is all you need to start.
• Bonus Skills: Welding and CNC experience are a huge plus, but definitely not required!
• Requirements: A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, safely lift up to 70 pounds, and perform work that may involve kneeling, crouching, crawling, or other active positions.
