Job description

Our leading manufacturing company is looking for a Machine Shop Lead to join our second shift team. This role is responsible for leading daily CNC machining operations by operating Makino MMC pallet pool systems, ensuring continuous machine uptime, performing quality inspections, and managing cutting tool maintenance and inventory. Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues in collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, and the Tool Room while interpreting technical blueprints to develop tooling plans. **Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 5+ years set-up Machinist experience in a machine shop.

• Able to understand technical part prints and develop tooling plans based upon those prints.

**Key Responsibilities:

**

• Operate Makino MMC (pallet pool) including loading & unloading of fixtures, cleaning debris from parts, performance and verification of quality checks, and material handling required to keep all CNC’s operational.

• Check, maintain, repair, sharpen, replace and monitor the working inventory of machine cutting tools of each machine.

• Identify machine and/or tooling issues, then work closely with the supervisor, tool room, maintenance or engineering to resolve the problem.

• Serve as technical lead for operators in the machine shop.

• Assist with training of new operators.

• Serve as back-up to the supervisor; complete essential tasks in their absence.

• Work with Engineering on new parts and continuous improvement projects.

• Move material to operations within the plant and document through SAP.
