Job description

Overview
We are looking for a highly versatile and self-directed Delivery Driver & Shop Assistant to be the ultimate "floater" for our facility. We are a specialized machine builder creating complex automation equipment for the industrial manufacturing sector.
The biggest selling point of this role is the variety: no two days are the same. In a single shift, you might drive our flatbed truck to deliver a completed machine to a customer, return to the shop to perform preventative maintenance on our CNC machines, and finish the day helping the purchasing department organize the stockroom. We are looking for an independent, highly reliable self-starter who can manage their own day, follow documented instructions, and represent the company professionally while on the road. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to multiple sides of a dynamic manufacturing business.
Compensation
  • $19 - $22 / hr

Shift
  • 1st shift: 6:00am-4:30pm
  • Monday - Thursday

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision
  • 401(k) with match
  • PTO

Responsibilities:
  • Regional Deliveries & Pickups: Safely drive a company flatbed truck (no CDL required) for regional runs (typically up to White, GA) to deliver finished equipment or pick up parts requiring service.
  • Material Handling: Operate a forklift to safely load and unload trucks in the shipping and receiving areas.
  • Preventative Machine Maintenance: Perform basic daily maintenance on shop machinery, including adding oil and coolant, and safely dumping chip hoppers.
  • Stockroom & Inventory Support: Assist the purchasing department by following documented instructions to locate, count, and organize parts into job boxes.
  • Order Preparation: Coordinate with the stockroom lead and inspection team to prep orders for outsourcing or delivery.
  • General Shop Labor: Assist with cutting raw materials on the saw and maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace (5S principles) during downtime.
  • Schedule Adaptation: Flex your working hours to accommodate delivery schedules (e.g., shifting your start time later in the day to cover an evening return, or occasionally working a Friday for an urgent customer need).

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Driving Record: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (No CDL required).
  • Equipment Operation: Prior experience operating a forklift is highly preferred.
  • Self-Directed Work Ethic: High level of autonomy and agency; ability to look for the next task and stay productive without needing constant micromanagement.
  • Mechanical Inclination: Comfortable performing basic, trainable maintenance tasks on industrial machinery.
  • Organizational Skills: Attention to detail when counting parts, organizing job boxes, and following specific work instructions.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adjust daily hours or occasionally work outside the standard Monday-Thursday schedule to accommodate customer delivery windows. Overtime will be paid for extra hours worked.
  • Professionalism: Ability to represent the company well when interfacing with customers and vendors during deliveries.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with match
