The Fleet Shop Helper is an entry-level position that assists in the daily operations of the Fleet shop department.

Essential Functions

  • Perform shop maintenance-related work as required
  • Assist with inventory maintenance of repair parts and equipment
  • Inspect tools and equipment to ensure that they are in working order
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate policies and OSHA standards
  • Clean the shop and returns tools and equipment to proper locations
  • Conduct safety inspection on Company equipment
  • Perform all work in accordance within established safety procedures
  • Assist senior technicians in the completion of assigned tasks and jobs
  • Drive company vehicle to pick up and deliver parts
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
  • Perform other assigned tasks
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • 1+ years of experience in heavy equipment or auto repair is desirable
  • Ability to acquire a class A driver’s license
  • Must have insurable driving record

  • Ability to multitask and work independently

  • Salary $15 - $20 / hour
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
