We support major Canadian and American defence programs through advanced CNC machining, precision fabrication, mechanical assembly, and specialized finishing services.Position Summary We are currently seeking a Tool Setter (Presetter) to support our CNC machining operations by preparing, organizing, and maintaining all tools, fixtures, and related equipment required for production. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, organized, and enjoys hands‑on technical work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.Day Shift: Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 4:30 pm and Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pmKey ResponsibilitiesTool Preparation - Gather, inspect, and prepare all required tools, holders, inserts, fixtures, and gauges for CNC operators prior to job start.Tool Assembly - Assemble tool holders, set offsets, and ensure tools are correctly measured and ready for machine loading.Equipment Organization - Maintain an orderly tool crib, ensuring tools and components are stored, labeled, and accessible.Inspection & Verification - Inspect tools for wear or damage and verify readiness against job travelers, setup sheets, and tooling lists.Inventory Support - Monitor tool inventory levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs.Collaboration - Work closely with CNC operators and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely tool delivery.General Shop Support - Assist with basic shop tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications1–2 years of experience in a machining, tool crib, or manufacturing environment.Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, fixtures, and precision components.Knowledge of common cutting tools, holders, inserts, and measuring equipment is an asset.Familiarity with CNC machining environments preferred.Ability to read basic technical instructions, tooling sheets, and part documentation.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Aerospace or jobbing shop experience considered an asset.
