Job description

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia.
POSITION SUMMARY
Repairs machinery or mechanical equipment of an establishment. Work involves: Examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble; dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts; replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock' ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs; preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops; reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation. Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years journey level experience in the maintenance mechanic field.
  • Must possess the tools of their trade.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license
  • Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standards
  • Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
