$18.00–$20.00 per Hour, Based on Experience
3rd Shift | Monday–Friday | 9:30 PM–6:00 AM
Training on 1st Shift for Approximately 3 Months
Ready to Move Beyond Machine Operation?

We're looking for an experienced Machine Operator who's ready to develop more advanced setup skills.

You'll begin by learning to operate grinding equipment and, over time, train toward becoming a Grind Setter/Operator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with machine operating experience, mechanical aptitude, and the desire to learn more technical setup responsibilities.

You don't need previous grinding experience. Experience operating manufacturing or production machinery can provide a strong foundation for this opportunity.

The regular schedule is 3rd shift, Monday–Friday, 9:30 PM–6:00 AM. You must be available to train on 1st shift for approximately three months before transitioning to 3rd shift.

Convenient commute from Torrington, Winsted, Harwinton, Litchfield, New Hartford, Thomaston, Plymouth, Burlington, Bristol, and surrounding Northwest Connecticut communities.

What You'll Learn & Do
  • Operate grinding machines to meet production and quality requirements
  • Learn machine setup procedures
  • Select and change grinding wheels and tooling
  • Learn proper wheel dressing techniques
  • Set and adjust machine feeds and speeds
  • Select appropriate tools and chucks for different operations
  • Check machine setups and finished parts for accuracy
  • Read and work from blueprints
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify finished parts
  • Troubleshoot grinding and production issues as your skills develop
  • Complete required production and quality documentation
What We're Looking For
  • Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Interest in developing into a machine setup/operator role
  • Experience using measuring tools is helpful
  • Blueprint reading experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to quality and accuracy
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to train on 1st shift for approximately three months before moving to 3rd shift
Previous machine setup or grinding experience is especially valuable and may qualify for pay up to $20.00 per hour.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds consistently
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit throughout the shift
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, lift, and reach as required
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • $18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
  • 3rd shift opportunity
  • Hands-on training
  • Opportunity to advance beyond basic machine operation
  • Develop valuable machine setup and grinding skills
  • Gain additional experience with blueprints and precision measuring equipment
  • Long-term career potential
