Job/Position Summary:

The Production Painter will be is responsible for finishing and painting a product or components of a product through priming, lamination, gluing, sanding, trimming, glazing, and other processes. May perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them, rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Properly mix catalyzed, water-based paint and industrial coatings

Inspect parts prior to painting for proper surface preparation

Prepare parts for painting by masking and positioning parts

Paint multiple part types and colors during a normal shift

Work to a high-quality standard

Safely operate and maintain spray and mixing equipment

Maintain a safe and clean work environment including spray booths

Notify management and purchasing of inventory shortages

Prepares parts for painting by sanding and sandblasting and filling with epoxy and polyester fillers

Use of air grinding and sanding tools

Painter Physical Demands

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Able to stand for 5 hours at a time

Able to occasionally lift 45 lbs

Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment needed for the position

Automotive / Prototype Painter Education and Experience

Requirements:

High School Diploma

Hours 6a.m. - 2:30p.m. (Monday - Friday) OT Saturdays
