Emerald Packaging is a family-owned business that has been servicing the fresh produce industry throughout the U.S. for almost 60 years and has established itself as one of the largest flexible packaging producers in the West Coast with over 250 employees, operating 24/7. Job Summary:

You will work independently and be responsible for the set up and operation of a press machine producing packaging products in bag or roll stock form (per customer preference).

Essential Functions:

  • Operates a press, including setting-up, running jobs, and monitoring inks quality and usage.
  • Maintains efficient machine operating speeds and minimizes waste.
  • Compares samples of the machine against specifications on the job envelope to ensure proper set-up.
  • Proofreads a sample produced using the sample provided and the instructions on the job envelope
  • Checks print quality continually during the shift, taking corrective action as required.
  • Checks plates are clean during the printing run, and ensure plates are clean when returned to the Mounting Department after the press run.
  • Maintain the equipment in great condition & always practice safe operating procedures
  • Schedule: Must be able to eventually work 12-hour rotating shift (two days on, two days off with lots of opportunities for additional overtime), but will start with Monday -Thursday 10-hour shift
  • Your work will be overseen by the supervisor & department manager for support

Work Schedule:

  • Night Shift - Monday – Thursday 4:00pm – 2:00 am
