Job Summary:

Under general supervision, operates and performs routine troubleshooting, and minor repair of all packaging equipment and systems, and conducts packaging line changeovers and mechanical set-up of all packaging equipment in accordance with the packaging schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizationโ€™s policies and procedures and state, federal and local laws.
  • Operates Packaging equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Performs routine troubleshooting and minor repairs of packaging and processing equipment.
  • Performs packaging line set-ups and changeovers.
  • Monitors Packaging Line during production and document accordingly in batch records. Proactively addressing issues a keeping line within operating parameters and supporting Packaging Operators in order to maintain optimum efficiency
  • Reports all major and unresolved downtime issues to the packaging section leader and escalates to Engineering Technician.
  • Complies with all company equipment, safety, OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Supports department goals for output and efficiencies.
  • May be assigned to assist ย Engineering Technicians in performing Preventive Maintenance in production equipment as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
  • Operates in accordance with our Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, and all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and prefer hands-on or vocational school training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Production equipment operations and maintenance practices.
  • Standard Operating Procedures for equipment operations including safety rules and regulations.
  • [WD1]ย Mechanical aptitude and basic mathematics.
  • Troubleshooting of packaging equipment problems associated with die cutting/punching of transdermal patches, web alignment, pick & place, cartoning and other packaging and labeling equipment components.[WD2]ย 
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Complying with all Company safety rules and regulations, recognizing hazards and taking appropriate corrective action.

  • Understanding and following written and oral instructions.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience as a set-up mechanic in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
