USA SiteWorx is a leading provider of land clearing, grading, and site work services. We are currently seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our growing team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Position Overview:
As an Equipment Operator specializing in grading and site work, you will play a crucial role in executing construction projects by operating heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, and graders. Your expertise will ensure that our sites are prepared to the highest standards, meeting project specifications and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, graders, and other equipment for grading and site preparation tasks. Operate auxiliary equipment as needed and directed to support site preparation.
  • Grading & Site Work: Perform grading activities to ensure sites are level and meet required specifications, including but not limited to setting up lasers, shooting grades, and accurately setting grade stakes. Handle excavation, trenching, and backfilling tasks as needed while reading and understanding construction grade stakes and related mathematics.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines, including conducting pre-operation inspections of equipment and immediately reporting any safety concerns or equipment issues. Always maintain proper attire, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), safety vests and glasses when appropriate, long pants, hard sole/close-toed work boots, and presenting a clean and professional appearance.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in clearing sites, removing debris, and preparing the area for construction activities.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance. Address minor mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance teams for more extensive repairs.
  • Team Collaboration: Take initiative and assist with other job tasks as needed for job completion. Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents encountered during operations.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in grading and site work.
  • Proficiency in operating bulldozers, skid steers, excavators, graders, and other related machinery.
  • Strong understanding of site plans, blueprints, grading specifications, and grade stakes.
  • Ability to set up lasers and shoot grade accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with all regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:
  • Strength & Stamina: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Stamina to work long hours, including standing, walking, and climbing, often on uneven terrain.
  • Mobility & Dexterity: Full range of motion to climb into and out of heavy machinery. Ability to operate hand and foot controls with precision. Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Vision & Hearing: Adequate visual acuity to operate equipment safely and effectively, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Good hearing ability to detect warning signals, communicate effectively with team members, and recognize changes in machine operation sounds.
  • Environment Tolerance: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and dust. Tolerance to noise, vibrations, and airborne particles commonly encountered on construction sites.
  • Endurance: Capability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, including machine operation, manual digging, and material handling.
  • Cognitive Abilities: Strong hand-eye coordination to maneuver heavy equipment with precision. Quick reflexes and decision-making skills to respond to changing site conditions and potential hazards.
