Job description

Accel International has grown to be the best high-performance conductor manufacturer for the aerospace, medical, telecommunications, and other industries. Our state-of-the-art technology and the dedication of our associates are unmatched by any of our competitors! With emphasis on customer care and integrity, we have become a force to be reckoned with in the wire industry, and our growth reflects this. We currently operate two state-of-the-art facilities in Connecticut, one in Indiana, and a new one is being built in Florida 2022.


We are looking for experienced, skilled Machine Operators to set up, maintain, and operate machinery. We are looking for working individuals who are reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Our goal is to ensure that production procedures will be carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.


Responsibilities:

Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle

Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)

Feed raw material into machines

Test operation of machines periodically

Fix issues that might occur during the shift

Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws


At Accel, we offer competitive pay, excellent benefits, and the potential for growth. You will start at least $25 per hour and work your way up to $32 per hour or more in a few years! We also pay 6 months retainer bonus of $1,000 twice a year (back shifts) with an annual average bonus of $7,500 = total bonus opportunity up to $15,000 per year for high performing associates. We have positions available in Meriden, CT and Cheshire, CT.


Shifts Available:


2nd (4pm-12am)

3rd (12am-8am)

Off shift schedules available (Tuesday-Saturday, Wednesday-Sunday)


To set you up for success, Accel is looking for the following qualifications:

Proven experience with operating machinery (about 3-5 years)

Understanding of production procedures

Longevity in previous positions with no gaps or "job hopping"

Mechanical and analytical skills

Positive attitude

Excellent attendance

Willing to work overtime and weekends

Must pass a drug screen and background check

At least High School Diploma or GED Required

Basic math knowledge


Safety Requirements

Must wear safety shoes (steel toe), safety eyeglasses, safety ear protections

Must participate in company ear testing surveillance

Must be able to work with sharp tooling such as scissors, cutters, knives, and other materials required to handle wire

Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time

Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching
