Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and preparing Deburring machines for production, ensuring all tools and equipment are adjusted and aligned properly. The role involves analyzing machine and process issues, facilitating engineering changes, and monitoring processes to recommend improvements that enhance productivity and maintain quality standards. Additionally, the Machine Operator ensures all materials are available and of proper quality during production phases.

Responsibilities

  • Perform set up duties to ready Deburring/Tapping machines for production.
  • Install, adjust, change, and align tooling and equipment for operations.
  • Analyze machine or process problems and determine solutions.
  • Facilitate engineering changes and monitor processes for productivity improvements.
  • Ensure availability and quality of materials at machines and workstations.
  • Execute proper inspection methods and conduct periodic quality checks.
  • Assist and train operators in product inspection techniques.
  • Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Instruct and assist operators in machine setup, operation, and quality standards.
  • Report and prevent equipment malfunctions and material discrepancies.
  • Assure efficient production flow and plan for smooth job transitions.
  • Complete paperwork and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Train new employees and provide work instruction in absence of lead or supervisor.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in machine operation and blueprint reading.
  • Experience in quality inspection.
  • Machine setup experience, preferably in fabrication and assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ years’ related experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Ability to set up Deburring/Tapping department machines to specifications.
  • Understanding of assembly and machine operations.

  • Proficiency in using computers and measuring tools.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomingdale, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
