Job Description

The Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring intake and vat machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role involves manual machine setup with hand tools, performing basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, conducting quality checks, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work area throughout each shift.

Responsibilities

  • Manually set up intake and vat machines using hand tools according to work orders and production requirements.
  • Operate machinery and monitor screens to ensure equipment runs correctly and efficiently during production.
  • Handle machine changeovers as needed, including cleaning, sanitizing, and adjusting equipment for different products.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical testing and troubleshooting when issues arise with the machines.
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel to identify the source of mechanical or electrical problems and support the development of solutions.
  • Independently fix routine issues that do not require maintenance intervention to minimize downtime.
  • Read, interpret, and use work orders on a daily basis to follow production specifications and instructions.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on products throughout the production run to ensure they meet established standards.
  • Complete daily cleaning and sanitizing of machines during product switchovers and at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain accurate awareness of machine performance and promptly report any deviations or concerns.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of machine operation experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing light testing and troubleshooting on machinery, including both electrical and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in operating and monitoring automated or semi-automated machines.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical adjustments and minor repairs using hand tools.
  • Skill in identifying machine issues and taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders and production instructions.

Work Environment

The position involves standing for extended periods, working near moving equipment, and adhering to sanitation procedures during product changeovers and at the end of each shift.
