Job description

Summary

The Machine Operator I operates and maintains a single machine or machine line, ensuring efficient operation with minimal supervision while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.

Functions Of the Position
  • Set up, load, and monitor machinery to ensure efficient operation.
  • Follow work orders, quality requirements, and sanitation procedures, including cleanup and changeovers.
  • Direct and instruct machine line personnel on specific job duties.
  • Perform pre-operational equipment checks.
  • Utilizing chemicals/soap/Clorox and other equipment.
  • Create pallet ID labels and verify all materials and products before use on the production line. Complete daily PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment inspections to maintain safety.
  • Meet or exceed production, quality, and safety standards.
Additional Functions
  • Clean machinery following production runs and changeovers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Previous industrial truck experience preferred.
  • Previous machine operator experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Good manual dexterity, vision, and mobility.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, move, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
