Job Description

Role: Production Operator

Job Summary: Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for running the production line. This includes operating machinery, ensuring that raw materials are fed properly through the manufacturing process, resolving line stoppages, clearing equipment jams, verifying finished products against quality specifications, and ensuring that products are properly prepared for shipment.

Compensation: $25.53 - $29.41 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety policies, programs, procedures

  • Complete health & safety pre-start checklists

  • Inspect raw material and finish products per quality specifications

  • Operate counterbalance, propane-powered forklift

  • Ensure product being produced meets established quality specifications

  • Conduct quality checks at regular intervals

  • Operate manufacturing equipment in accordance with established operating procedures

  • Document production numbers, items contributing to down-time into system

  • Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

  • General housekeeping duties

  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisory staff

Qualifications

  • High Secondary School diploma

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing or construction industry or similar industry preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of proven forklift operating experience preferred

  • Comfortable with standing for extended periods of time

  • Manual dexterity

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to follow direction and specific instructions

  • Good communication skills; Fluent in English - Reading, Writing and Speaking

  • Comfortable with working in a dusty environment

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

  • Must be able to walk and/or stand 90% of the shift

  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
