Job description

Insight HRM is seeking applicants for a General Labor/Machine Operator Tube Mill Production position with Dundee Products based in Dundee, MI. This a highly physical position which requires long hours standing, working in a plant environment with exposure to noise, fumes, dust, etc. The ideal candidate will be a dependable team player, committed to arriving to work each day on time and ready to contribute their talents to the products we make.
Schedule: Currently operating on a 4x10 work week, Monday through Thursday 6 am - 4:30 pm with occasional Friday and/or Saturday shifts.
Opportunities for career growth into more skilled Machine Operator, Maintenance and/or other roles. Starting rate of pay set based on entry into the General Laborer Classification at $19.00/hour. As a valuable member of our production team, you will learn our steel tubing fabrication processes from the ground up.
Job Summary:
Dundee Products is a locally owned and operated fabricator of steel tubing. Our dedicated team work together to create a quality product that they are proud of and our customers appreciate. Currently operating on a standard 4-day/week, 10 hour/shift schedule Monday-Thursday (1st shift currently, potential 2nd shift opportunities in future) with the potential for additional hours periodically. Our General Labor (GL) classification learns from the ground up our various processes to turn rolls of steel into tubing that is used in many applications from automotive to construction. This is a physically intensive position which has the GL on their feet for the entire shift.
Essential Functions:
  1. Operating machinery and hand tools
  2. Keeps staging area filled
  3. Inspect products to standards
  4. Transport product within facility
  5. Produces product according to specifications, as assigned
  6. Follows all standard operating procedures, safety guidelines and policies
  7. Performs other duties as assigned
  8. Comply with required attendance policy and be physically at assigned location to fulfill job functions.
  9. Works harmoniously with others with exemplary interpersonal skills.
  10. Works on strict deadlines which require prompt attention to detail and reliable attendance.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Previous demonstrated experience (minimum of 1 year) in similar production capacity including Tube Mill experience, gauge and micrometer experience, mill set up and change over experience.
  3. Previous machine operator experience running milling, presses, and/or tube cutting machines required.
  4. Certification for hi-lo desirable; hi-lo and/or crane experience a plus.
  5. Ability to read, write and use micrometers, calipers, tape measures and other related measurement equipment required.
  6. Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  7. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  8. Attentive to detail and well organized.
  9. Mechanically inclined.
  10. Self-motivated, proactive self-starter.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  1. Involves working in a production/manufacturing plant environment regularly exposed to extreme temperature, extreme noise, fumes, dust, etc.
  2. Ability to move throughout the facilities regularly.
  3. Ability to lift, carry and transport up to 50 pounds.
  4. No other unusual physical demands or environmental factors.
  5. Ability to speak, hear and see.
  6. Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, climb or stoop
  7. Ability to keep up with production pace for entire 10-hour shift
