Job description

Summary of Job
Operate industrial forklift truck to perform material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas and machines. Performs all these activities in compliance with company's personnel safety, food safety and food quality systems as well as 5s methodology.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Security:
  • Follows all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
  • Complies will all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Complies and enforces security norms and food quality.
  • Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the finished product.
  • Must present proper employee Id upon entering premises
  • Must present Parking permit upon entering premises
  • Follows safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

Quality:
  • Complies and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • Complies and enforces security norms and food quality.
  • Adequately carries out all activities related to security and quality of the finished product.
  • Becomes personally accountable for the highest quality and integrity standards of behavior, honesty and fairness in all aspects of the job.

Production:
  • Supplies product to all machines according to work order specification.
  • Prior to signing out equipment performs operations and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher. Fills check list accordingly.
  • Replaces defective pallets as necessary.
  • Responds to radio calls from supervisors and leads indicating an empty bin needs to be replaced with one with product in order to keep line running.
  • The Forklift Operator must be able to recognize all the different types of allergens and their respective segregation storage areas.
  • Reviews production orders and determines that correct materials are available at packaging line during start up and changeovers.
  • Properly fill out all required documents pertaining to wash/sanitize of all bins.

Order & Cleanliness:
  • Maintains work area clean and orderly (during and end of shift)

General Functions:
  • Transport (product, equipment, pallets, etc.) utilizing a motorized industrial vehicle.

Education and Qualifications
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience operating forklift

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Core Competencies
  • Maintain (All) Industrial Motorized Vehicle clean, safe, operational, secured - in order that all Vehicles are always in good working conditions.
  • Supports Machine operators to meet Production and Quality targets. Stops the machine if / when there is a safety or quality risk and requests support as needed. Meets safety, quality and production attainment
