Job description

Join our Tempe manufacturing team as a Machine Operator Lead, where you will play a critical role in driving safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment. Our facility manufactures electrical fastening and support solutions used in data centers, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure worldwide.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting production operations, coaching team members, removing obstacles to performance, and ensuring production goals are achieved. The ideal candidate grows with the manufacturing floor, leads by example, and can balance employee development with operational execution while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Shift: 3rd Shift
Compensation & Extras: $28.00/hour plus shift differential of up to $2.00/hour
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Lead daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
  • Support the Production Supervisor by coordinating workflow, staffing resources, and production priorities to achieve production goals.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, providing coaching, direction, and real-time problem solving.
  • Fill operational roles and provide line coverage as needed to maintain production flow during absences, breaks, vacations, and staffing fluctuations.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and drive improvements in throughput, efficiency, downtime reduction, and waste elimination.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on standard work, equipment operation, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts related to equipment, materials, processes, and product quality concerns while partnering with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while recognizing strong employee performance.

YOU HAVE:
Education Requirement
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
Years of Experience
  • 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience leading assembly, fabrication, or high-volume manufacturing teams preferred.
Skills
  • Production leadership and employee coaching.
  • Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Manufacturing metrics, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and equipment support.
Abilities to Meet the Physical and Environmental Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials consistent with facility requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and production demands.
  • Ability to safely work around machinery, forklifts, conveyors, and other manufacturing equipment.
