Job description

We’re currently seeking a 2nd Shift Manual Machine Operator I to support our growing manufacturing operations with our team on-site in Richmond, Illinois. This position will directly assist with machining within the facility and contribute as a vital part of the production process for specialty trackwork.

This role will support our 2nd shift, which works Monday through Thursday from 3:00pm to 1:30am. Training will be conducted during 1st shift (Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm) and then transition to 2nd shift.

**Roles and Responsibilities:

**

  • Sets up and runs all manual milling machines; adjusts offset as needed

  • Maintains a neat and organized work area

  • Assembles milling cutters onto holders and index inserts

  • Loads and unloads parts on machine with crane

  • Assists support personnel with program, tooling, or machine issues as needed

  • Completes required quality documentation

  • Maintains a positive and helpful attitude to other team members in the shop

  • Handles and reads measuring devices to ensure product conforms to order specifications and quality requirements

**Minimum Qualifications:

**

  • A high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of machining experience

  • Adequate machining and tooling knowledge – feed, speeds, and chip load

  • Consistent appraisal of continuous improvement methodology

  • Ability to read and understand production drawings

  • Ability to work extra hours (overtime) if needed

  • Ability to work on-site in Richmond, Illinois

**Preferred Qualifications:

**

  • Any knowledge of FANUC CNC control system

  • Previous industrial milling experience
