Job Title: Machine Operator AssistantJob Description

The Machine Operator Assistant supports daily production by supplying materials, assisting with machine setup and operation, and helping maintain consistent product quality. This role works closely with machine operators to keep manufacturing processes running smoothly, accurately labels and tracks in-process inventory, and follows established procedures to ensure safe and efficient production in a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Locate and supply raw materials and components to production lines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Weigh, strap, bag, and label finished goods according to production specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in performing in-process quality inspections to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Inform the supervisor promptly of any material needs, shortages, or issues as they arise.
  • Maintain in-process inventory by correctly labeling work-in-progress (WIP) in production output systems or job packets.
  • Verify material lot numbers and quantities to ensure accurate tracking and traceability.
  • Support machine start-up and setup activities under the guidance of the machine operator.
  • Assist with machine operation by monitoring basic functions and reporting irregularities.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while working around machinery.
  • Work as part of a team to move and position large rolls and materials onto presses and other equipment.
  • Handle materials safely, including lifting and moving items weighing between 50 and 75 pounds.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and safe operations.

The environment can be hot in the summer and remains warm in the winter due to running machinery.
