Job description

The Machine Operator assists production through the operation, set-up, cleaning, and performance of minor maintenance on complex electrical / mechanical production equipment. Trained and compliant with Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, Hazmat, and allergen policies. Must follow BCK Food Safety and Sanitation requirements. Times and days may vary depending on production needs. Overtime may be required.
  • Operate machinery to produce quality products within established time standards.
  • Perform pre- and post-operational inspections of equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Set up or adjust production machine(s) as required by the department to support the manufacturing effort.
  • Recognize hazards in the workplace and perform corrective actions or report them to immediate supervisor.
  • Clean equipment and surrounding work area when finished or as needed.
  • Assist and communicate with the Supervisor regarding unsafe or unusual equipment issues or conditions, damaged or unusual condition of material and ingredients, problem prevention, identification correction and any product quality issues.
  • Document accurate production reports and equipment information as required.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Shop Technician of specific problems as they arise.
  • Adjust machine to meet standards.
  • Work with or support a team environment in manufacturing.

  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience in similar position preferred.
  • Use of hands/wrist, walking, bending, balancing, twisting reaching,
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand up to 10 hours.
  • Will be working in dust noise and varied temperatures (65°- 85°).
  • Must adhere to Department Dress Code and Sanitation requirements.
  • Must be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
  • This is a safety sensitive position, subject to initial and follow-up drug testing.
